LABOR DAY WEEKEND
- HOMECOMING CELEBRATION –

We have invited Our Neighbors to most of our Bicentennial Celebrations: Memorial Day – Wagon Train Weekend – Children’s Day. etc. Now its time for us HOMETOWN FOLKS to celebrate Our Town’s heritage. THE FAMILIES OF LILLY BOROUGH/WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Past and Present - ARE INVITED TO THE GRAND CLEBRATION OF OUR BICENTENNIAL.

If you have not received the July Newsletter - that lists the events of the Labor Day Weekend in detail and provides registration form – check our web-site at www.l-whs.com for a printout of the newsletter.EVERYONE - PLEASE REGISTER EARLY – WE NEED HEADCOUNTS TO PROPERLY PREPARE FOR EACH EVENT. – BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIR !!! BRING STICK-ON RETURN ADDRESS LABELS FOR CHANCES.
SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 2. 2006
Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church Hall – Dedication of Monument to Memorialize Plane No. 4 of the Allegheny Portage Railroad.
FIELD DAY is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. –at the Lilly-War Memorial Field there will be challenges for all – ages (6 to 7) – (80 to 100)
in basketball free throws, baseball and football distance throws, 40 and 100 yard dashes, novelty races and egg throws, topped of with a tug-of-war contest between and among the 15 organizations, clubs, churches, and schools in town.There will be horse-drawn hayrides, fire-truck rides, good food, and music. Come dressed to "get down and dirty" and have some fun!BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIR – Bring return address labels for chances.
Note some changes to the Field DAY Schedule
on Saturday –September 2nd - we will not be able to have a greased pig race because of legal considerations. BUT WE HAVE ADDED A DOLL SHOW - for those 12 years of age and younger. Judging will take place at Noon, and prizes will be awarded for the Biggest, the Smallest, the Prettiest, the Ugliest, the Oldest, the Most Elaborately Dressed, the Best Handmade Doll, etc. Details will be posted on our web-site: www.l-whs.com - Dolls should be checked in by 11:30 a.m. Natalie Barlick-Reed will coordinate the Doll Show.We will have a Hole-In-One Golf Contest
– Hit three balls for $5.00. First to score a hole-in-one (at 50 yards) wins the Bicentennial Jackpot of $200. There will be a circle around the hole. If no one scores the Hole-In-One, all those who get a ball in the circle will be entered in a drawing to split $200. The Hole-In One Contest will run from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. No practice hits. You may bring your favorite club. Tom Muldoon will coordinate the Hole-In-One Contest.3:00 to 6:00 p.m. – Saturday is an open time – good time for family, class, or friend’s mini-reunion - we will be happy to announce in the paper the time and place that any group wants to get together. 9:00 – Midnight Sokols – D.J. Teach
Sunday September 3rd – Homecoming Picnic at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Pavilion and Picnic Grounds – 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Good Food – Good Music – Good Fellowship

– note time change – 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. – War Memorial Field - Lilly Bank’s 100th Birthday Party – Free Cake and Ice Cream – Good Music – Bicentennial Raffle Drawing - Winners need not be present (but some surprises for winners in attendance). BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIR.FRIENDS FROM ALL THE NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES ARE INVITED FOR THE FIREWORKS DISPLAY – SCHEDULED FOR 9:30 p.m. at "The Field"
