FLORIDA ADVENTURE
Natalie & Jim Reed, along with Nathan, Allison, Laura, & Derek, arrived home on May 3rd, after a week’s trip to Florida. While there, they visited Celeste (Leap) & Jesse Farrell at their new home in Boca Raton, Florida. Natalie says their home is beautiful. We fence in our dogs here in Pennsylvania, in Florida, they fence out alligators. The young family also visited Ft. Lauderdale, spent some time on Pacoima Beach collecting seashells before venturing to Orlando where they visited Universal Studios, the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM. The twins loved Disney Playhouse, while Nathan & Allison loved the beach and the hotel swimming pools. The temperatures hovered around
88 degrees during the visit.
SYMPATHIES
The deepest sympathy of the community is extended to the family & friends of Linda (Sweeney) Selip who passed away on May 3rd, 2008. Linda & her husband George just recently purchased a home on Portage Street.
Sympathy also is extended to the family & friends of Dave Guyer, of Sharon, S.C., who also recently passed away. Dave had relatives in Lilly, visited here often, and was a life-member of the Lilly American Legion where he had many friends and whose members participated as the honor guard at his funeral on May 6th, 2008.

AMBULANCE
The Lilly Area Ambulance Association will be employing paramedics to staff the ambulance. This is necessary to meet Act 45 requirements and dispatch guidelines to remain in service. The costly venture will be evaluated closely in the coming months. Any questions contact yours truly Jack Barlick, association president at 886-4694
MOTHERS DAY
Sunday, May 11th is Mothers Day and best wishes are extended to all the mothers in the community. Don’t the tulips in the center of town make a nice touch for that special day?
Memorial Day is fast approaching and as usual there will be an 11 AM service at the War Memorial field. This year tribute will be paid to William Dibble, a young man who died during the Spanish American War while serving in the Army and is buried at LillyDale cemetery. More next week.
