The Board of Directors have adopted by-laws and proposed the following goals:
- recruit as members ALL current and former residents of Lilly Borough and Washington Township
- set up an office equipped to accomodate and administer the on-going business of the LWHS
- establish a museum to preserve and display artifacts from the community's past and to serve as a resource for historical and genealogical reserach
- discover and collect any materials which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the community
- establish a geneological base for families of the community
- record the oral history of our senior citizens and incorporate the interviews into a ninety minute video for the Bicentennial
- create a website to further the objectives of the LWHS
- publish a timely and informative newsletter
- publish a series of historical calendars for 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006
- offer educational programs and workshops for the community
- establish historical programs for the youth of the community with in-school presentations and workshops as well as poster and essay competitions
- establish monuments, memorials, and markers throughout the community to commemorate persons, places, and events of historical importance
- publish a map/brochure to facilitate a tour of the historical sites in the community
- establish and implement an annual theme for 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006
- form a Bicentennial Committee to organize a celebration of the year 2006, as the 200th anniversary of our community
- publish an extensive history of the community for the 2006 Bicentenial
